Important stuff to think about as an influencer ?

“Do I need to pay taxes on the products I receive? Do I really have to write “in collaboration with” on my posts?” All these questions and so little answers. Stay calm, we will help you figure everything out!

We have collected the five most common questions. If you do not find your answer below, do not hesitate to contact us!

1. Do I have to pay taxes on the products I receive?
If you work outside Boostifieds network, then yes (unless otherwise stated of course).

The products you get home through your collaboration with us, you don’t need to pay taxes on because we do that for you.

2. If the product I get home is a gift from a company, do I need to pay tax then?
Yes. A product or service that you get from a client or company because you are an influencer is not a gift. It is a compensation for work and that compensation you must pay tax on, even if you do not market the product or service – it is enough that you have received the product and retained it, and the donor’s hope that you will advertise the content.

3. If I do not keep the product but give it away?
Even if you do not keep the product, you need to pay taxes for it. This also applies if you have a give away to one of your followers. If you don’t collect the product or even return it, you don’t have to pay taxes for it.

4. Why do I have to write “In collaboration with” on my posts?
According to the swedish “International Council of Commerce”, you need to clearly advertise your post, so that the reader sees what is advertising and not. This should be marked at the beginning of the post and it is therefore not enough to make hashtags as #collaboration or #ad.

5. What if I don’t write “In collaboration with”?
If you do not advertise your post, you may be convicted by the International Council of Commerce.
